I am Blessed!
By Sonia Brown
God
is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change
his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? I
have received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot change it.
(Num 23:19-20)
Have you ever been flipped off by someone
when you were driving your car? I have.
I was merrily driving onto the freeway
without a care in the world merging with traffic when I looked into my
rear-view mirror and noticed a red Chevrolet. I saw this man throw a finger
up into the air. You could tell by his gestures that he was angry. He was
angry at me! He quickly passed me and continued to give me sign language.
I would classify myself as a safe and
cautious driver. I try my best in keeping with the speed limit but I have
noticed that there are others out there that seem to be always in a hurry.
This stranger of a gentleman was trying to
ruin my day. He was trying to steal my joy by cursing me.
Do you know what I did? I laughed. The Word
of God rose up within me and I laughed some more. You know why? Because that
rude man could not curse what God has blessed. I’m blessed whether he likes
it or not. I’m established in God’s blessings.
I have had Christian people come to me over
time that have said, “Pray for me because so and so has put a curse on me.”
You know what I tell them? How can you be cursed if God has blessed you?
You cannot be cursed. I don’t care if all
the witches on earth come together to put a curse on you. You are blessed!
God’s light always expels the darkness. God is greater than all the devils
on earth. His blessing surpasses anything the devil might throw at you.
Don’t believe the lies of the enemy. And if
anyone flicks you off on the freeway remember my story and just laugh and
have a blessed day in the Lord.
